Friday, March 11, 2016: What phase is the moon in?

If you visit the website Moon Rise and Set Times you will be able to view the rise and set times of the moon for each day.

Today's moonrise will be at 7:53 am. Moon set will be at 9:20 pm.

Make sure you include in your post:


  • The time of day/night you made your observation
  • Conditions of the sky (partly cloudy, overcast, clear, foggy, etc.)
  • Any additional observations and details you find important

    Today is March 11, 2016 at 8:27am. It is a very cloudy day so I can't see the moon. However the moon is in the waxing crescent phase

    Today is March 11, 2016. I went outside at 8:00 am to observe the moon. The sky is clear with some clouds. Today is a new moon.

    Today is March 11,2016. It is a cloudy day but I saw that it was a Waxing Gibbous.

    It is 3/11/16 at 8:59 am, I looked outside the window and I couldn't see the moon. It is cloudy and it is in the new moon phase.

    Today is March 11, 2016 10:12. The moon is a waxing crescent. I can't see the moon.

    Today is 3/11/16 at 9:00 am. When I looked for the moon I could not see because the light part of the moon was very small. The moon is in the waxing crescent phase.

    Today is March 11, 2016 at 6:47pm. The sky is clear and I can see the moon it is in the waxing crescent phase. If you look closely at the moon you can see the outline of the whole moon.

    At 8:16 pm on 3/11/16 I looked at the moon outside and it was a little cloudy but I could still see it. It was in a waxing crescent phase.

    I observed the moon on March 11th at 8:16 and the sky was a little cloudy but I could still see the moon. The moon is in the phase of a waxing crescent.

    At 6:12 p.m today I looked outside to see the moon and i could see it. It was in the Waxing Cresent phase.

    I went outside at 8:05pm. It was a waxing cresent. The sky was clear. I wonder why the moon is standing up sometimes but other times it is laying down.

    It was March 11, 2016 and the time was 6:15. the moon was in a waxing crecant phase.
