Wednesday March 16, 2016: What phase is the moon in?

If you visit the website Moon Rise and Set Times you will be able to view the rise and set times of the moon for each day.

Today's moonrise will be at 11:50 am. The moon will set the following morning at 2:27 a.m.

Make sure you include in your post:


  • The time of day/night you made your observation
  • Conditions of the sky (partly cloudy, overcast, clear, foggy, etc.)
  • Any additional observations and details you find important

  1. Today is March 16, 2016 60:2 pm. I couldn't see the moon because the sky was cloudy. I know it is in the first quarter phase.

  2. Today is March 16 at 6:28 pm. The moon is in the Waxing Gibbous phase. Today I didn't see any constellations in the sky. The conditions of the sky are cloudy, rainy, thundering, dark and lightning.

  3. Today is March 16, 2016 at 7:10pm. It is a very cloudy day and I can't see the moon. However the moon is in the first quarter phase.

  4. at 8:15 am today I looked outside to see the moon and I could not see it. I knew it was in the First quarter phase.

  5. Today is 3/16/16 at 8:30 pm. When I looked for the moon I could not see it because there was a thunderstorm. The moon is in the waxing gibbous phase.
