Tuesday March 15, 2016: What phase is the moon in?

If you visit the website Moon Rise and Set Times you will be able to view the rise and set times of the moon for each day.

Today's moonrise will be at 10:56 am. The moon will set the following morning at 1:36 a.m.

Make sure you include in your post:


  • The time of day/night you made your observation
  • Conditions of the sky (partly cloudy, overcast, clear, foggy, etc.)
  • Any additional observations and details you find important

  1. Today is 3/15/16 at 3:54 pm. When I looked outside I could not see the moon because of the clouds. The moon is in the first quarter phase.

  2. At 4:26 pm on 3/15/16 I looked outside the window to see the moon. I couldn't see the Moon because it was cloudy outside. It is in the waning crescent phase.

  6. Today is March 15 at 9:00 p.m I looked outside and I saw the moon and it is in the New Moon phase. It was a really clear sky and the moon was very bright and it was very easy to see the moon.

  8. At 8:55 am I looked outside to see the moon and I could not see it. It was very sunny out but I knew the moon was in the 1st quarter
    phase.

  9. Today is March 15th 8:00. The moon was in a first quarter phase. Something i also saw was Orion and the red and blue stars.

  10. It is March 16th and I am looking out at the moon. It is 9:00 A.M. I cannot see the moon but the moon sets at 11:00 A.M. The moon is in the phase of a first quarter.
